Building upon a successful partnership initiated in Season 9 and rooted in a commitment to innovation, sustainability and addressing global challenges, the collaboration between NAGASE Group and Andretti Formula E will continue to grow throughout Season 10.

NAGASE Group, a global leader in innovative materials through their expertise in chemicals, plastics, electronics, mobility and life and healthcare, was announced as an official Andretti Formula E partner in early 2023. The partnership has proven to be an opportunity for NAGASE Group to continue its mission of connecting the world with high-end materials and technologies, while creating a platform for sustainable growth. With a vision for a sustainable world, the company’s ‘Identify, Develop and Expand’ approach aligns seamlessly with Andretti Formula E’s commitment to a greener future.

“We are pleased to continue our sponsorship for Season 10 with Andretti Formula E and reigning Formula E World Champion Jake Dennis,” said Kentaro Nagase, Executive Officer of NAGASE Group. “NAGASE, with approximately 100 group companies globally, aims to solve ‘the next global issue of society,’ such as environmental problems, through the use of materials.”

A Homecoming in Tokyo

Founded in 1832 and with 108 companies located in 25 countries and regions currently, NAGASE Group have welcomed the addition of the first-ever Formula E race, and first FIA-sanctioned world championship motorsport event, held in Tokyo on the Season 10 calendar. NAGASE Group will put an emphasis on activating around the Tokyo race weekend to showcase the NAGASE brand at its ‘home race’ through employee networking events with Andretti Formula E drivers at its Tokyo headquarters, as well as tours around famous Tokyo landmarks.

The alluring 18-turn, 2.58km street circuit encapsulates the Tokyo International Exhibition Center, known as Tokyo Big Sight – the largest exhibition venue in Japan. Nestled along the Tokyo Bay waterfront and approximately seven kilometers from the NAGASE headquarters, the challenging layout promises high-speed excitement and technical proficiency. The debut race in Tokyo marks a significant milestone for Formula E, bringing the fastest, lightest, most powerful, and efficient electric race cars ever built to the vibrant streets of the Japanese capital.

“We are looking forward to the inaugural Formula E event in Tokyo. We resonate with Andretti Formula E’s commitment to sustainability and aspire to collaborate towards achieving a more sustainable society together,” added Nagase. “We are also excited about the performance of Jake Dennis, last season’s World Champion, and Norman Nato, who joins this season. We hope that this Tokyo race serves as a catalyst for the further spread of Formula E, a next-generation motorsport, in Japan.”

By 2030, the company aims to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 46%, compared to 2013 levels, and Scope 3 emissions by 12.3%, compared to 2020 levels.

“For a global company like NAGASE, addressing climate change is an important issue, and we have set a goal of achieving Carbon Neutrality, which means achieving zero GHG emissions by 2050 (Scope 1 and 2),” added Nagase.

To achieve these targets, NAGASE is implementing measures such as visualizing emissions in the supply chain, creating life-cycle assessments for strategic products, providing low-carbon products and reduction solutions and improving manufacturing processes with a focus on renewable energy.
